Non-Licensed Asbestos

The HSE consultative document CDR237 identified approximately 660,000 persons likely to undertake work with asbestos that doesn't require an Asbestos License.

One of the things that is required is the compliance to the Control of Asbestos Regulations (currently 2012) and in particular Regulation 10 Information, Instruction and Training.

  • There is a prescribed syllabus:
  • What is asbestos? Where is it used?
  • The health effects
  • Legislation
  • Working with ACM's
  • PPE & RPE
  • Tools
  • Preventing exposure and the spread of asbestos
  • Waste handling

The main focus of this UKATA approved course is on the control measures that prevent exposure to asbestos, the prevention of spread of asbestos and ensuring all works are completed safely and in accordance and compliance with legislation and current 'best practice'.
